Season's Beatings to All!

December is finally here and that can only mean one thing. It's time for some classic Grappler Vs. Striker action! December 18th we will be meeting with our striker brothers and sisters for our annual beatdown. Bring your no-gi equipment and your favourite beverage and join in on the holiday tradition.

In preparation for Season's Beatings, all classes in December leading up to 18th will be will be no-gi. We will concentrate on takedowns and grappling for mma. Please bring your striking gear if you have any. Headgear is mandatory for striking and can be purchased easily online. I recommend Rival Headgear. I use their full face headgear ($49.99) and find it quite comfortable.

Props!

Props go out to Ben Pumpkin and Paul for their outstanding performance at Grappling Industries. Paul hit the podium after going 3-1 in his division. Ben scored the takedown of the night with a super sweet double leg on a very skilled opponent.

Tristan and Brad participated this weekend's BJJ Provincials. They each brought home some hardware. Tristan won bronze, and Brad took home Gold in gi... Silver in no-gi. Way to go guys.

Health and Safety reminder.

We have had a few injuries on the mats this month. Rob is healing up and will be choking us again very soon, Serge is out for an undetermined amount of time but hopes to be back for the 18th. With no-gi training coming up it is especially important to be mindful of your partner. Please go slow on the takedowns, kneebars and other no-gi delights!
